AD&S, Inc. opened its doors in
February, 1989, for the purpose and mission of developing law enforcement related software
that would enable all departments, regardless of their size, to get timely criminal-related
information from local State and FBI criminal history records.
From this mission evolved a Criminal Justice Tracking System
(CJTS)
which has been placed in many police departments.
With constant new legislation and the aftermath of 911, it became clear that a system was
needed for remote scanning and transmission of fingerprint images to both State and FBI.
This system was developed and implemented first for childcare facilities, then all healthcare
facilities.
Today we have hundreds of facilities using an ordinary desktop scanner (certified by the FBI)
and an internet connection to safely compress and transmit a fingerprint card from any location
through an authorized agency for FBI fingerprint background checks.
If the capabilities of that agency so provide, then a website posting of the facility's
individual applicant information can provide (with a secure site, user name, and
password) the answers to those inquiries – all electronically. At the same time the database
can be maintained for future replications or re-submissions as required.
