1. How to replace the scanner model in the FingerPro FTS application?
Step 1. Purchase EPSON Perfection 4490 PHOTO scanner and ship it to AD&S for testing. Do not forget to specify which facility is the scanner for. Your facility will be charged $75.00 for the scanner testing.

    Step 2. After the scanner is tested AD&S will notify you and you have to schedule a pickup of the scanner from the AD&S office. Please do not forget to inform AD&S regarding scheduled time.
    Step 3. Check if your FingerPro FTS Remote WS software build is up to date. If it is not update the build.
    Step 4. After receiving your scanner back install the Epson Scan Software provided by the manufacturer.
    Step 5. Download the current list of registered scanners and save to the folder C:\FProMSUW\Tst\
    Step 6. Run FingerPro FTS Remote WS, open "Admin Tools" and click the "Local Station Update" button. Then, follow screen instructions.

2. How to install a new FingerPro FTS Remote WS if the current system is unrecoverable?
  A new FingerPro FTS Remote WS can be installed only by IT person with administrator rights. Let your IT supervisor contacts AD&S: 601-992-4121x203 to aquire a password.
  Then, following steps are necessary:
    Step 1. Download and run Fast FingerPro FTS Remote WS setup file (password protected)
    Step 2. Install the scanner manufacturer's software in exact accordance with the instruction (you will find it in the "Scanner Installation" topic of the FingerPro FTS Help)
    Step 3. Run downloaded FastRWSetup.exe application.
    Step 4. Run C:\FProMSUW\Bin\RestoreFTS.exe utility and follow screen instructions.
    Step 5. Start FingerPro FTS Remote WS application. On the first run the program will update the local station.
Do not pay attention to the notification "Duplicate entries found" (just click OK). Follow screen instructions.
    Step 6. The station is ready. Setup input defaults, communication parameters and printer in accordance with the FingerPro FTS Help instruction (see the "Printer Tab" topic).

3. How to update FingerPro FTS Remote WS software build?
    Run current FingerPro FTS Remote WS build replacement utility (build 139)

4. How to move FingerPro FTS Remote WS to a new computer?
  FingerPro FTS Remote WS can be moved to a new computer only by IT person with administrator rights.
  Please follow the steps below:
    Step 1. Copy the folder C:\FProMSUW from the old computer to the local disk C: on the new computer.
    Step 2. Install the scanner manufacturer's software in exact accordance with the instruction (you will find it in the "Scanner Installation" topic of the FingerPro FTS Help).
        NOTE: If you are a livescan user download and run Livescan Setup software. Then, connect the livescan to the computer's USB port and install drivers from the folder C:\Program Files\Identification International\digID L SDK\Drivers.
    Step 3. Run C:\FProMSUW\Bin\RestoreFTS.exe utility and follow screen instructions.
    Step 4. The station is ready. Setup the printer in accordance with the FingerPro FTS Help instruction (see the "Printer Tab" topic).

5. How to avoid the rejection due to the error "Subfield value is not in the edit tables"?
  FingerPro FTS Remote WS uses MCIC edit tables for all pick lists that you see on the screen. For example, fields "Suffix", "Sex",  "Race",  "Eye Color",  "Hair Color",  "Place of Birth", "Citizenship", "State" can be populated only from the drop-down lists of allowed selections. If your transmission has been rejected by prescreening at MDH with a comment "Subfield value is not in the edit tables" you need to update your edit tables. If you have a run-time internet connection it is very likely that the update will be done automatically.
  Please do not close this page and follow the steps below:
    Step 1. Delete the file C:\FProMSUW\In\updated.vtb from your local disk C.
    Step 2. Run FingerPro FTS Remote WS.
    Step 3. Open "Admin Tools" and click the "MCIC Edit Tables Update" button in the "General" tab.
    Step 4. The program will ask you "Would you like to continue the MCIC Edit Tables update?". Always choose "Yes".
    Step 5. In seconds (up to 5 minutes depending on your internet connection speed) a window opens with the message "Updating All Edit Tables ... Please wait ...". It means that the edit tables have been downloaded and are being updated. Then, you can skip the Steps 6 and 8. Otherwise, if the message above does not appear on the screen in 3-5 minutes click "Cancel", close Admin Tools, and proceed to the next step.
    Step 6. Restore this page back. Click the RIGHT mouse button here and select "Save Target As..." option.
    Step 7.  Save the downloaded file updated.vtb to the folder C:\FProMSUW\In..
    Step 8. Switch back to the FingerPro FTS Remote WS and repeat Steps 3 through 5. On the Step 5 the message "Updating All Edit Tables ... Please wait ..." will appear and the edit tables will be updated.
    Step 9. Do not pay attention to the notification "Duplicate entries found". Click OK.
    Step 10. Close Admin Tools and close FingerPro FTS Remote WS.
    Step 11. Run FingerPro FTS Remote WS again. Your edit tables are updated.

6. How to update FingerPro FTS Remote WS software version?
    If your application files are corrupted we recommend you to apply the last full software update:
               FingerPro FTS Remote WS version update (version 3.4.1, build 106)
    Then, run current FingerPro FTS Remote WS build replacement utility (build 139)
